The under 18s took to the field on Saturday for the first time since the middle of March last year. While the game against Cambuslang, was a friendly designed to get the players back to contact rugby, without a shadow of doubt this was a big occasion for both teams of players and the coaches, just because it was happening! A prize earned for all those sessions that the players turned up for, to learn and practice without any prospect of a game.

Considering the length of the break, the rugby on show was quite impressive, The young Bulls, while held to a tight game for the first 15 minutes, started to find their feet and more importantly their shoulders as an impressive defensive performance held Cambuslang back for most of game.
Looking to deliver what had been practiced in training, the team will be looking to build on the attack, to bring that up to the level of the defence that was on show. Perhaps the score would suggest, that there was nothing to improve on in the attacking department but this set of young Bulls have been working hard and they decided that they fell short of what they wished to achieve in attack. While this bodes well for next season's U18s, it also bodes well for the players that will be moving to senior rugby at the end of the month and this valuable game experience will give them a running start in the senior Pre season programme.

All in all a great start to rugby again and an enjoyable experience for all.
