Jonny who has been coaching at Hamilton for 6 years went through an interview process to be selected onto the coaching team and was delighted when he got the position.

Jonny commented "I am really excited to be part of the Scottish Rugby PHD programme. It is a great opportunity to develop my coaching and work with coaches at a high level. I have no doubt that I will learn new ways to develop players and bring those skills back to Hamilton."

Jonny is also one of the lead coaches at the Hamilton Bulls Academy, a programme for players from U15 - U18. The programme is designed to develop the players further both on and off the pitch.

Steven Meenagh, Club Development Officer added "This is a fantastic opportunity for Jonny to progress his coaching and I am sure he will add real value to the Scottish Rugby PDH. I think its brilliant that the rugby club is not only having success with its players in the Scottish Rugby pathway, but we are now offering opportunity for our coaches to coach at their highest level."

Jonny won the Hamilton Sports Council Young Coach of the Year in 2018 and is taking further steps forward to improve his coaching by being apart of Scottish Rugby's mentoring programme, designed to support coaches to come on to the UKCC Level 3 coaching course.
