Live Scrum

Over the festive period, we have successfully installed our new ‘Live Scrum’ scrummage machine supplied by Silver Fern in New Zealand.

The Live Scrum, powered by pneumatic rams and a rail system, has been fitted inside the clubhouse to simulate the feel of an opposition pack regardless of weather conditions.

Using this machine we are able to develop our players and teams to create safe and powerful scrums on the pitch.

First impressions from our senior teams are positive and everyone is excited to take advantage of this fantastic addition to our club.

David Vickers, acting Club President commented:

“Thanks must go to Alan Revie for making it possible for us to purchase such a fantastic piece of equipment which will benefit all teams across the club. I’d also like to thank MacGregor Flooring for fitting of the astro turf surface , the senior guys who painted the room , Nicole Spiers for her amazing Bulls mural and of course Andy Crawford for the hours of work he has put in project managing this and fitting the machine.”

1XV Head Coach Ben Addison added:

“The scrum machine offers players the chance to improve their technique in a safe
environment. The feedback from the machine in numbers gives an output for players to compare against. I’m looking forward to seeing players develop in a key aspect of the game.”
