Bulls put on a brave display.

Sunday saw the Bulls tour rumble on. We were welcomed to the leafy west end of Glasgow this time to face Hillhead and Jordanhill. We were to face a mixed team of P6/7 as they were struggling with numbers and had to combine their teams for training. Our wee bulls were joined by Amy from P7 and was a very welcome addition to the team. We didn’t have enough to field a full team, but our Captain, Adam led his players on to the pitch to face a full strength P7 team as the opposition had split their group back into age groups. Unfortunately greater numbers and a physically larger team were just to much for our Mini Bulls. It was one way traffic until the last play when the Bulls broke through to score the best try of the game. A brief break to catch their breath and to just have fun playing together and it was time for the second game. This time to face the P6 team.

The Bulls took on board some coaching points and focused on the positives. Some really outstanding individual performances meant that the Wee Bulls were a credit to the club.
The greater experience of the Hills players was obvious from a technical point of view, but in terms of heart the Bulls were a class apart.

Our game coach ensured that the match was a great learning experience for both teams and kept the game flowing. Campbell showed some fantastic footwork taking the Bulls forward and reducing the deficit. Matthew made the recovery tackle of the season, giving Hills a 20 yard start, he made a quality tackle setting up a ruck leading to a Bulls try. Amy from P7 was greatly appreciated by her team mates and coaches alike. Strong in the tackle and very vocal, she will be a great addition to our squad next season.

The Wee Bulls have had better days at the office, but no-one can doubt their commitment or determination. Thanks again to everyone for venturing up to the West End. Hopefully we all got home unscathed without becoming vegan or worse.

Captains Comments

Adam said after the matches that he thought they had more confidence in the second game. They were talking to each other more and passing better. He also said it was a great game!
