Bulls hold their own against evenly matched competition

The early start to travel to Currie certainly took its toll on the young bulls. They arrived with their eyes heavy despite the extra hour in bed. Stephen Brogan kindly stepped into to lead the team starting with the warm up - or should that be wake up?! Soon, the team started to come alive. The effort the players were putting into the warm up showed those watching that P5 meant business and the past few games were in past.

Starting out against Currie Blacks, the young bulls showed grit and determination against a formidable team. With everyone trying their best to pass wide, it wasn't long before the team broke through the defences and scored. This provided a much needed confidence boost to take into their second game against Currie Amber. With their sights firmly set on the try line, the young bulls continued to work at making clean passes putting their opponents under pressure to defend. Currie Amber had the slight advantage of fresher legs which meant they were able to break through the gaps in our defensive line when they were in possession. However, each and every player today made contact in a tackle leading us into rucks. today showed that winning possession from the ruck is an area that we need to work on. We will continue to work on this in the coming weeks.

The experience of the first two matches however were invaluable to Hamilton as they went on to face Biggar in their last game. Maintaining possession for the majority of the match, they worked as a team scoring the most tries in any game this season. Each player committed 100% to supporting each other when pressing forward and every player was more aware of their surrounding and game play than they have this season.

Well done to Dean Delshad (C) for leading the team out to their most successful match day yet.
