Well folks, what a day!
Both teams played out their skin in the first Lanarkshire Derby of 2017/2018 season. Captain Michael Cairney led a team out the centre of the park with smiles on their faces and fire in their bellies. Supporters saw Hamilton put pressure on our visitors from the first whistle. They followed their coaches golden rules; run forward, pass back and attack the space. The tackles on display were textbook with everyone giving their all. It was clear that Hamilton were the slicker team achieving our goal for the game of winning the rucks. Anyone would be impressed with the technical skills everyone showed today. As expected, we have some lessons to learn, primarily attacking as a team and supporting the ball carrier. These areas were the weakness that Dalziel exploited, however we have a whole season to add this to our skill set. Thank you to Daziel for being worthy opponents and providing much needed substitutions. Game coaching was positive with all supporters providing positive praise in abundance.
Well done boys. Today was an absolute pleasure. I am so proud of each and every one of you!
