An excited team met at the side of the main pitch at Biggar RFC. The team's competitive spirit was intoxicating as they made their way over to their pitch. With a nervous coach watching from the lines shouting encouragement, the team played against Dalziel first. Both these teams were well matched in size and ability. Hamilton approached each tackle with surprising confidence given their truncated experience. Both teams finished with smiles on their faces knowing they had played their little hearts out.
Currie's team towered over the young Bulls at the half way line as the second game kicked off. The sheer determination and team work from Hamilton fell just short of the skills required to match the aggression and cohesion from Currie. Hamilton showed immense potential, putting everything they had into defending their line. With occasional spurts of energy, Hamilton kept the pressure on with breaking from the pack and scoring some tries.
Biggar were fantastic hosts with ravenous players tucking into delicious packed lunches before they left for home.
