I am delighted to announce Owen McLeish as Hamilton Rugby Clubs 1XV Captain for season 19/20. The new coaching team have been assessing players all summer and have chosen Owen to take us forward into the new season.

Who is Owen?

Avid supporters of the Bulls will certainly know Owen. Owen is our current 1XV fly half and has been for several years. The 28 year old has played for the Bulls since he was 8 years old coming through our youth section making his 1XV debut when he was 17. With his incredible kicking record he is up there with the highest points scorers in the club. Being a police officer, Owen has also represented both Scottish and British police teams.

Owen commented: " It is a huge honour to be asked to captain the team. To captain my hometown club is a privilege and something I am very proud of. The fact that the boys are all homegrown and we are all close mates makes it even more special. I am really excited for the upcoming season with the team and the new coaches. I have played under some great captains at Hamilton and I am looking to lead the boys to the same standard"
