Hamilton travelled to Coatbridge to take on Waysiders/Drumpellier in the West Cup 2nd round kowing that they would face a tough test to maintain their winning streak.
The game started at a furious pace with Hamilton looking to exploit any space out wide whilst the hosts were more comfortable keeping the ball with the forwards and challenging Hamilton to a physical contest, which they were cetrainly up for as the repelled phase after phase.
After 7 minutes Hamilton opened the scoring and were cross the try line on a further 3 occassions before the half was over, whilst restrictingthe hosts to 2 tries.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first and Hamilton looked as though they would win comfortably, until ill discipline allowed the hosts to get a foothold. The challeenges were flying in from both teams and very nearly spilled over on a few occasssions, with the society referee doing well not to issue any cards to either team. The home side finished the game strongest with phase after phase of pick and drive which resulted in two tries, but by this time Hamilton had a convincing lead.
A well fought victory for the young Bulls who will need to show all the spirit and skill in the final Cup pool game i two weeks time when they Host Dalziel/EK.
