Hamilton U15’s fought out a highly entertaining encounter at the weekend that ended in a 41-41 draw.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on a side pitch, however a late transfer to the 4G pitch made conditions underfoot far more conducive to running rugby and both teams took advantage of this from the very start.
West were quicker out of the blocks and had Hamilton under early pressure that resulted in a couple of quick tries, however once Hamilton settled into their passing game and started moving the ball the gaps were appearing and were exploited to give the young bulls some deserved reward for their efforts.
The game flowed from end to end with both teams being adventurous in attack and as the game approached the final phase, West created an overlap on the left wing that looked like a certain scoring opportunity only for a tremendous try saving tackle from Jacob Fawcett forcing the West player into touch.
Considering Hamilton lost the earlier fixture against West, this showed a big improvement however defensively a few things still to focus on.
