Hamilton U15 v Biggar U15
Hamilton bounce back with a solid display
Hamilton took to the field determined to improve on the performance the last time these sides met in September. Late call offs meant Hamilton fielded 14 players which Biggar sportingly agreed to match.
The game got off to a flyer for Hamilton as early pressure paid off with two quick tries from Bradley Darroch and Jamie Gemmell, however the young bulls were further depleted when Luca Connor was injured after 20 minutes and was unable to continue.
The now 13 players were battling bravely, however Biggar were applying pressure and were rewarded with a score in the corner.
Hamilton managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over through Andrew Cunningham and Jacob Fawcett, however inevitably Biggar came roaring back and only some determined last gasp defending kept Biggar at bay for large chunks of the game.
As both sides tired toward the end of the match, Hamilton scored another couple of late tries from Owen Rice, Jacob and Bradley to put the match out of sight and this time Biggar were unable to respond.
A fantastic all round team effort, and considering Hamilton failed to score the last time the sides met, this was a significant turnaround. The team have now set the benchmark that we will be looking to maintain in future weeks.
