A sensational end to a sensational season for our young players at Hamilton Rugby Club.

Hamilton Rugby Club's Youth Section brought their hugely successful season to a close at the weekend with their annual End of Season Awards Day. Over 250 players and parents, along with Hamilton's youth coaching team, gathered at the club to reflect on a season that has seen the club's youth section promoted to the newly named Shogun Conference, Scottish Rugby's premier league for youth rugby.

First up were the ever enthusiastic P1-P7 players taking the plaudits and receiving their medals from club secretary and youth supporter Kirsten Schaschke. Later in the day, the U13-U16 players received their awards from former youth player and current club captain Craig Inglis.

Three awards are handed out at the older age groups; Player of the Year, Player's Player of the Year, and Most Improved Player. The winners are shown below.

Development Officer Alan Falconer said

'I'm delighted how the Youth Section has grown both in numbers and stature over the season. Promotion to Scottish Rugby's premier youth league will ensure our players continue to develop here at Hamilton. This is the league we need to be in and everyone throughout the entire club is relishing the challenges ahead next season'

The Club welcomes players of all ability, from the experienced player to those that are new to the sport. Youth section training is now finished for the summer, however 'Tartan Touch Rugby' is a great way to get introduced to the sport.
