Iain Leggate takes time out to introduce our new Digital Clubhouse and his initial thoughts as he starts his new role as President of our club.

For my term as President of Hamilton Rugby Club, I hope to build on the excellent work started by Jack Ryan and Kevin Rodgerson, to whom I extend the sincere thanks of the whole club for their dedication and hard work. It goes without saying that the development of the playing side of the club, from P1 through to 1st XV is at the heart of all we strive to do at Hamilton Rugby.

Digital Clubhouse
To that end, our new website, will become a valuable resource in ensuring that we are in the right place to be able to support all aspects of the club, and our sincere thanks go to Alan Falconer and Simon Harrison for devoting their time and expertise in setting it up.

What will it do for us?
For members: it will improve communication so that we can create a two way interface between club and members; Weekly news updates; updated fixture lists and team selections, live 1st XV game day reports, match reports, player profiles, social events - all quickly updated and easily accessible on the web site and through social media.Training information on its use will follow in due course.
My hope is that this will be one way we can increase the engagement of all members in taking our club forward.

For the Club: The website will provide a vehicle for promoting the club and our sponsors to the wider community. Hamilton Rugby Club is at the heart of our community, and the community is at its heart. In order to grow, or even stand still in a competitive world, we need to engage with and involve our whole community. Financial governance is crucial for our survival and the many tools on the website such as data management, money transfer facilities etc provide a great tool for this. As well as this, the web site will promote the club facilities as a venue to a variety of users, in order to increase revenue.

For the Rugby Community: Any club aspiring to be one of the top clubs in the country, as the size of our player numbers would suggest we already are, needs tools such as the website to help us to reach out to the SRU and other clubs as we grow.

Finally, all the hard work which has gone into this development will be for nothing if our members do not access and use the facilities it offers. I encourage you all to look into the various sections of the web site, see how much it offers, use it, improve it, and let Hamilton Rugby grow.
