A big weekend for the youth section didn't finish with all the results we wanted but it did leave Hamilton Rugby Club Youth winning their Conference.

Champions
Fielding teams at all levels and a win for the 16s gave us the points we needed to ensure with one round of games left to play we can not be caught. Last year we finished 3rd behind GHA and Biggar indicating the progress of our players and coaching team.

This is fantastic achievement and one only made possible by the commitment of so many people involved with our youth section.

  • The players' who commit every week to training and representing Hamilton
  • The parents who see what a great club their kids are involved with and ship them all over the west of Scotland and beyond
  • The team managers who have proved an invaluable addition to ease the pressure of running the teams from the coaches and of course our coaches.
  • The coaches in the section are second to none, and deserve a massive thank you for the hours of work they have put in to make this possible.

Over a number of years Hamilton Rugby Club have set the standards on how a youth section should be built and retained. The hard work and dedication from its staff and volunteers and parents have produced an environment where rugby thrives and hundreds of children have fun while becoming accomplished rugby players. It was only a matter of time before this resulted in the club receiving recognition for all this hard work. Winning the Green Conference recognises, not just the young player’s excellence on the pitch but excellence that exists in all aspects of way that the youth section operates. All players, parents, coaches, team managers, volunteers and staff should be rightly proud of this achievement. Well done to all.

Next weekend
The final round of league games with all midi teams playing against their Dumfries counterparts. Our Under 15s are still in with a chance of winning their league after a nail-biting 19-21 defeat against Biggar earlier today.
Our 18s play their last game down at Dumfries before their visit the following week for a tricky National Cup tie against Presidents League runners up Ayr.

As ever if you are at a loose end all our teams value your support and why not come down and see the future of our club.

U18, U16 and U15 away to Dumfries on Saturday (U18s) and Sunday (U16s & U15s); U14s and U13s at home on Sunday. All KO 2pm.
