Wendy and Carol are running the London Marathon for the Maggie's Centre Lanarkshire

Wendy Christie and Carol Thomson, wives of club members Stephen Christie and Craig Thomson, are running the Virgin London Marathon for the first time on Sunday 23rd April 2017 and are fundraising for the Maggie's Centre Lanarkshire at Monklands Hospital. Maggie’s Centres offer free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends - help is offered freely to anyone with any type of cancer. The girls have visited Maggie's Lanarkshire and have been inspired by the wonderful work and support that is carried out here.

Over and above their 20 week marathon training plan, the girls have a few fund-raising events planned, and will also be running the Alloa 1/2 Marathon on Sunday 19th March. To help them reach their fundraising target of £2000, Hamilton Rugby Club are welcoming the girls (and their daughters) to attend the home game against Musselburgh on Saturday 11th February - please look out for them with their official Maggie's t-shirts and help fill their donation tins. Wendy and Carol will also be in attendance at the Ladies Day on Saturday 25th March.

In case you miss the girls on either of these dates, they would very much appreciate donations via their Just Giving Page :
