Hamilton send two Hamilton Teams at U18 to play Stirling County

This weekend Hamilton will head to Stirling with two teams and 32 players. This will be the first time in the Club Conferences since their commencement three seasons ago, that two clubs have played two team at the same age group on the same day.
Stirling County have been alone as a Club, in putting out two teams at each age group, most weeks. As there were no other clubs in the conferences that could provide opposition they have played their second squad in the tier four conference in Caledonia region.
This week and hopefully the return fixture in December, Hamilton will match them with two teams at under 18 level and both clubs will achieve an extra point for their clubs in the the over all club table.
This is an aspiration of the conference organisers at BT Murrayfield that clubs would grow the game and start to match the top schools that play two fixtures each week in their tier one conference. While we are a long way from the ultimate objective this shows that Hamilton continue to challenge themselves and the try and set the standards, rather than follow the crowd. It is testament to the work done by all the coaches, team managers and helpers from Mini rugby up who make Hamilton one of the best places in the country to bring a child to play rugby.
A special mention to the fantastic crop of players at U18 that are making this happen.
