Head coach David Gemmell shares his match day thoughts

Spirit. Belief. Effort.

Another defeat last Saturday, but undoubted signs of positivity from our performance.

We controlled possession for long periods, made far fewer errors and scored some good tries...Marr’s power at set piece being the difference between the teams.

This weekend Hamilton Bulls welcome GHA to Laigh Bent for round 11 of Tennent's National 1 and we will look to build on the promise of the previous weekend.

We enjoyed ourselves last week and expressed that in our commitment to our teammates and our manner of play - it was inspiring to see!

Today brings our next challenge - GHA - here’s the team to face them

An unchanged front row sees Scott Leggate, Greg Richardson and Taz McLaughlin combine again. Craig Inglis is joined this week by Jack Bruce in the row, with Gregor Brodie, Scott White and Josh White forming the loose trio.

With Hugo Crush injured, Euan Whelan steps in to partner the returning Owen McLeish at half back. James Howatson & Scott Whitelaw combine power and pace in the centre, with Max Priestly and Ben Plant on the wings ready to do damage. Ross Jamieson starts again at full back.

Darren Carr, Scott Alexander and Rab Brown will look to freshen our forwards effort with Neil Kennedy and Tom Decelle covering backs.

This will be Tom’s debut for our 1st XV since arriving from France - one definitely to watch!

There’s no 2nd XV match this weekend however 1927 are away to GHA and U18 have a game against Stirling.

As ever, I hope all Bulls enjoy their game, stay fit and healthy and have fun! Good luck!

Say hello when you’re at the game today!
