Head coach David Gemmell shares his match day thoughts

Marr will provide a stiff test for us in this weekend’s Tennent's National 1 fixture. For the second Saturday in a row, a strong start was again negated against Aberdeen when we sloppily turned ball over giving our opposition the opportunity to score.

That brings pressure upon us and under pressure we tend to overtry - which exacerbates the situation as the interception & charge down tries conceded prove.

My interview last weekend summed things up perfectly - so much good undone by too many bad moments, cut them out & we’ll be in the game.

We have spoken a lot this week about committing to our game plan, believing in what we are doing and in one another. Belief and self confidence mean so much to a team performance - let’s hope for more of the good performance side of us this weekend.

A number of changes to the squad this Saturday:

Scott Leggate joins Greg Richardson and Taz McLaughlin in the front row, Craig Inglis gets his first 1st XV start in the second row beside Gareth Jones. Gregor Brodie, Scott White and Josh White form the breakaway trio.

Hugo crush and Andy Wilson are partnered again at half back, with David Lopez and Mark Wallace in the centre. Neil Kennedy and Ben Plant are the wings with Ross Jamieson at 15.

The bench is Kevin McCann, Andy Murray, Euan Whelan, James Howatson and Ethan Aitken.

The Toos are at Ayr today and after a week of injury call offs, the 1927 are unable to field a team. Unbelievable the difference a week makes!

Good luck to all Bulls teams in their fixtures this weekend.
