Head coach David Gemmell shares his match day thoughts

4 weeks on from our last home match, we welcome high scoring Aberdeen Grammar to Laigh Bent for round 9 of Tennents National 1.

Reflecting on recent form, I can see our guys clicking into a great performance sometime soon - let’s hope today!

We have punctuated some outstanding phases of play with all too many OMG moments - cutting these out will go a long way to resolving our frustrations.

That’s not to say we should retreat into a “safe” form of rugby - to the contrary, Hamilton Bulls rugby is about expression & pace, ball movement and opportunity. To bring enjoyment back into our games we need to play with confidence & belief in our abilities - both as individuals and as a team...we see it in training - now let’s see it when it matters, Saturday afternoon! Bring it Bulls!

Today’s performers?

Taz McLaughlin, Ross McQueen and Greg Richardson in the front row, Jordan McLean& Gareth Jones at lock, Jack Bruce, Scott White & Scott Alexander in the back row.
Hugo Crush & Andy Wilson are at half back, Mark Wallace & Ross Jamieson in the centre, wings are Ben Plant & Max Priestly with Ethan Aitken at full back. Darren Carr, Craig Inglis and Charlie Craig provide back up power for the pack with Neil Kennedy & Dom McRoberts completing the squad as replacement backs.

Big shout out to Ross McQueen on his 50th 1st XV appearance - truly king of the chop tackle, congratulations!

Bulls Toos also entertain Marr at Laigh Bent today with the 1927 over at rivals Dalziel - incredible squads out this week, with particular depth throughout the back divisions of all Bulls teams.

Best of luck for a performance you can all be proud of!

See you at Laigh Bent.
