Head Coach David Gemmell shares his match day thoughts

Fate is a funny thing - it conspires against you when you least expect it...
With the Champions of National Reserve division 1, Melrose, forfeiting their match and giving a 28-0 5 point bonus to Edinburgh Accies, Bulls 2nd XV now need 3 points from our last 2 games against Ayr today and Stirling County next weekend.

Ayr will been keen to avenge their heavy defeat in the Laigh bent fixture when the bulls turned a 0-19 deficit into a 51-26 victory - more of the same belief today please.

There’s nothing like such a test to prove a team’s strength of character and we coaches feel the 22 selected are just the men for the job.

Greg Richardson starts at hooker with Scott Leggate & Andy Murray propping. On the bench wait Calder Dallas, David McGrath and Dave Paton. Josh White and Andy Ferguson are row engine with Ryan Butcher returning to the bench after injury. Back row starters are Frazer Dunnachie & a recovered Scott White on the flanks with Darren Rowlands at 8 - David Cocozza is the reserve.

Stevie Turnbull starts at 9 with Dom McRoberts at 10. Russell Virtue and Craig Inglis are paired in midfield with Neil Kennedy and Simon Deuchar providing pace & power on the wings. Scott Whitelaw directs ops from fullback. David Lopez and Martin Kennedy await action from the bench.

I’m really looking forward to watching the guys perform in this game - they have our confidence and the support of the Club to inspire them! Hope to see you there!
