Ladies squad help in the community

Our Ladies 1XV squad complete a fitness challenge monthly to increase their fitness and team bonding in their quest to be the best they can be as a team. This has incorporated running, speed and endurance challenges.

This month they have decided to do a community challenge instead!

After chatting with the South Lanarkshire Council Rangers Service, they have decided on splitting their time between some conservation volunteer work and litter picking. The council has provided equipment and drop off/pick up points for the bags of litter they pick. They have specifically picked the route between Hamilton Palace grounds to Chatelherault Park as this is were they complete a lot of their fitness challenges. They are completing their conservation volunteer work by clearing paths at Smithycroft with the SLC Rangers.

Freya Kennedy commented:

"For the ladies it's great to let the public see us out in the community. We feel we could make a big difference in both areas in a month. We have already had people stop and ask what we're doing, plus the added benefit of promoting the team and encouraging new players."

Well done to everyone of the Ladies squad and good luck with the rest of your challenge! If you see them out and about, make sure you say hello!
