A look at how one of our former players is getting on since leaving the Bulls and returning home.

Firstly massive thanks to Roddy for all the help in putting these together and the guys for taking the time to write them.

In each article, we ask the player to let us know their memories of Hamilton Rugby Club and what they are currently doing on and off the pitch...

What are your highlights and memories of Hamilton Rugby Club?
The whole season was a highlight! We had quite a major change, with the end of a coaching era mid-season and unfortunately missed out on promotion.
I always enjoyed the games where the sun was shining and we were able to run the ball! The months of December through February weren't quite as enjoyable rugby wise but that's coming from a midfield back. Another big highlight was after Thursday training, the infamous Tea Club and David Gemmell's quiz!
I have fantastic memories of the club and many good nights there after the games. Dress up parties were always fun, especially Halloween! I can still remember Elvis painting himself green as the hulk and spending a night in the Scottish winter with no shirt on.
Pub crawls down to the palace were always good followed by a fish supper and a short stroll home.
I also loved the club trip to Rome to watch Scotland play Italy in the six nations. This trip is no doubt remembered for the infamous day out. The highlight of that day was when Grant managed to lock himself in a toilet and fall asleep, in the middle of the afternoon. Davey McGrath with his natural poise under pressure took control of the situation to 'save him' with the 3 of us chased out by an annoyed restaurant owner!
My time in Hamilton was fantastic and I look forward to heading back to Scotland and catching up with everyone!

What's going on at the moment on and off the field?
Following Hamilton, I went to Brisbane and played a season for Souths which was fun and then traveled back to Scotland to play another season for Peebles before traveling back home to New Zealand.

Unfortunately, when I returned home I had my second ACL reconstruction on my left knee and haven't played rugby since. I still miss it like crazy but keep busy by training and competing at Crossfit.

I'm back living in Hamilton (Waikato) and working as a self-employed Personal Trainer. My door is always open for any fellow bulls on tour down under!

Thanks for the update Dave and remember that you always have a home at the Bulls.
