Commiserations to the players and coaches of the U18s in their loss to Dalziel this evening in the West Shield Final. After picking up trophies at Murrayfield and Cumbernauld over the last week, and winning a semi final on Saturday, tonight's game was always going to be a challenge in terms of fitness and endurance.
The lads played well in what was a tough match against our oldest rivals at Dalziel Park. There was little separating the teams for the first quarter, untill a series of early replacements through injury disrupted the rythm of Hamilton's play - particularly in defence. As a result the Bulls found themselves playing catch-up for most of the match against a Dalziel squad who managed to sustain pressure for the full 70 minutes.
The U18s are in action once again this coming Thursday when they meet Dalziel in the West Shield Final. This is the latest fixture in a very busy and successful period for the young Bulls having won the National Bowl last Tuesday, defeated Cambuslang/East Kilbride in the West Shield Semi on Saturday and winning the Cumbernauld 7s on Sunday.
The match gets underway at 7.30pm. Come along and support the lads....
Hamilton win U18 National Bowl
Hamilton's U18s won the National Bowl Final on Tuesday evening against Peebles. Played on the 4G pitch at Murrayfield, the match was a tense affair, uncomfortable for fns but highly entertaining for the neutrals.
Hamilton's Arron Partridge picked up the man of the match after scoring a hat trick. The young Bulls collected their medals from Scotland Internationalist Sean Lamont....
