On Sunday 21 April 2013 Hamilton U15s come up against Ayr U15s in the West of Scotland Shield Final.
Already beaten twice by Ayr this season the young bulls go into the game as underdogs however all the players remain determined to give it 100% and to hopefully top off an excellent cup run with a much deserved victory in a competition which started last September.
The coaches are very proud of what the boys have already achieved and the semi final victory against GHA at Laigh sees them take their rightful place in the final.
Win, lose or draw the boys are already winners by just being there.
Congratulations to the Hamilton U15s on their win over Waysiders on Wednesday night. In a tough encounter played under the floodlights of Laigh Bent, the Hamilton squad managed to overcome a physical Waysiders squad to win 53-10.
This puts the U15s at the top of Pool C of the West Regional Cup. Many thanks to the parents and other spectators for coming out on a bitterly cold night to lend their support. The squad's next match will be played on 23rd September away to Uddingston.
In a hard fought encounter at Uddingston RFC the U15 Bulls eventually ran out winners in their penultimate West Regional cup game to put them out on their own at the top of the group table. In a closely contested first half Bulls took an early 7-0 lead, however, despite Bulls having the majority of the possession and play Uddingston scored a try to bring the score to 7-5. Two tries before half time made it 17-5 to the bulls going into the break. In a keenly contested second half both teams fought hard but midway through the half the Bulls scored two quick tries to secure the points. Some very good defensive work denied Uddingston what looked a certain try near the end of the game and after the ball was cleared out the 22 the final whistle sounded.
A good win for the young Bulls side against a very strong Uddingston team.
