Membership 2014/15 – Important Information
As you may know Hamilton Rugby Club is registered under the Government’s Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) scheme. As a CASC we can claim back £2.50 in tax for every £10.00 donated to the club by members and supporters.
As a rule, membership subscriptions are not recognised by HMRC as a donation and therefore do not qualify for Gift Aid. However, we are permitted to adjust our membership fee structure in such a way as to allow members to make a ‘voluntary donation’ on top of their annual subscription. This additional money is eligible for gift aid.
We have reviewed our membership subscriptions policy and have decided to reduce the annual subscription for ordinary members to £100. However, in order for the club to build its finances, and thereby improve our facilities, we ask you to consider a donation of at least £40. We would emphasise that this donation is entirely voluntary but it will enable us to reclaim an additional £10 from HM Revenue & Customs on every Ordinary membership. Also, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you are able to claim additional relief within your tax return.
The new member registration form, which is enclosed, contains a space for your donation. Please note that you must be a UK tax payer for your donation to be considered for Gift Aid recovery.

NB. We are only focusing on Ordinary memberships for this season but aim to expand the gift aid scheme in future years to cover as many categories of membership as possible. However, we will gratefully accept any donations made under any category of membership. Just fill in the amount and sign the declaration on the membership form.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Hamilton Rugby Club for the season 2014/15, please see below for the different options.
The membership year runs from the 1st August to 31st July each year and fees must be paid by 28th August. If paying by Standing Order the forms must be returned by 1st August to allow them to be processed in time.
The following categories of membership are available:
ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP (currently £140 or £156 if paying by monthly Standing order)
This provides full membership of the club and voting rights at all General meetings. This is the level of membership required for any person representing the club and all senior players other than those covered by the Youth membership scheme.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP (currently £70)
Allows use of the clubhouse but doesn't cover playing/representative eligibility and excludes voting rights.
YOUTH (currently £60)
This is restricted to any person aged 16 - 18 years of age or who is still in full time education
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP (currently £85)
This allows the whole family to enjoy the use of the clubhouse facilities. Covers up to 2 adults and all children within a single household who are eligible for child or youth membership with the exception of those in further education. Adults have the same rights as individual Associate members and children do not require a separate child membership.
JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP (currently £25)
Individual membership for mini and midi players under 16 where parents do not want to take out family membership.

Membership fees for Season 2014/15 are now due. Please complete and return the membership form with appropriate payment.
If the total fees due are £140 or greater then you can pay by Annual Standing Order or by Monthly Standing Order (note this facility requires forms to be returned prior to the 1st August) download the new Annual Standing Order Form or Monthly Standing Order Form as appropriate. Once completed please return the form to your own bank branch for processing
Please note: If paying by ANNUAL standing order, the total is £100 plus your donation. If paying by MONTHLY standing order, this will be £12 per month, and a TOTAL of £120 plus whatever you level of donation is (please note: this is the amount if paying for one ordinary membership, please adjust as appropriate for additional memberships.)
If you have an exisiting Annual or Monthly standing order then please remember to change the amounts to reflect the increase.
