Bruising encounter brings Cup run to an end
Hamilton were drawn against Marr College for their Semi Final in the West Cup and the young Bulls knew it would be a tough game having lost a friendly earlier in the season. Due to the weather the game was switched at the last moment and played at Marr college playing fields 4G pitch, a few players in the 22 squad called off leaving Hamilton with 5 substitutes.
The game proved to be a tough lesson for the young Bulls who were second best in terms of aggression, speed to the breakdown, and rucking all of which had a huge influence on the game, but they were also rocked with injuries to key players with the first ten minutes of the game which saw Ryan Moghrabi and Lewis Mooney leave the field, with a long delay in play due to an ambulance being required for Lewis.
Hamilton failed to score in the first half despite creating a few good opportunities where they finally put into play some of the structures they had been working on.
Into the second half and Hamiltons injury woes continued, with a further 5 players having to leave the field unable to return, but the young Bulls did cross the line twice to register scores, the game was called early with Hamilton having to go to 13 players and with only 5 minutes left there was no chance of a heroic fightback.
Final score 45-14
